Organizational Culture
Tom Knudsen, President and grandson of the founder of Thomas, talks about the Values to Which We Aspire:Teams Spirit
Thomas is a collection of teams. When you join Thomas you are treated like and are expected to act like a member of a team. Initiative is encouraged and mistakes are allowed. We hope you will have fun and bring energy, enthusiasm, and imagination to Thomas.
Helping Customers
At Thomas, customers are king. We court them vigorously, and relentlessly in every possible way. Our greatest thrill is when we make them like us best. No job in the company is unrelated or inconsequential to this crusade.
Owner Orientation
At Thomas you work for an enterprise in the success of which you have some stake and to the success of which you can make a contribution.
Missionary Focus
Thomas unites buyers and sellers of industrial products and services through information management and technology. It does little else but it does this exceptionally well. In so doing, it materially bolsters the ability of productive enterprise to meet the needs of mankind generally while often dramatically improving the lot of those who it touches directly.
Achievement Ethic
At Thomas, it's what you do, not who you know that counts. At all levels of the organization we expect our people to strive to be the best. There is a distinct bias here to get things done, a preference for command over committee and a predisposition for trying things over studying them. With this action oriented approach, failures are inevitable along with whatever successes we might achieve. The failures create the opportunities to try again more knowledgeably. The success are cause to celebrate.
Straight Shooters
As a rule, the people of Thomas say what they mean and mean what they say. While truth and integrity characterize our dealings with one another, we think all outsiders deserve the same from us.
