Our Recruiting Process
Overseen by the HR Department, our process is characterized by a true partnership between HR and the business units. Initially an HR staffer reviews responses to postings to determine which applicants have suitable backgrounds, experience and skills sets for the position, and then contacts selected candidates for a face-to-face interview. If appropriate, they meet the hiring manager, and possibly other team members as well. (Since our teams are highly collaborative, a viable candidate usually meets with one or more key managers and/or members of the team.)If a candidate is selected for a position with our company, background and references are checked, and a formal offer is communicated. When the candidate accepts, s/he receives a Welcome Packet before day one on the job, and attends a New Employee Orientation meeting during the first week of hire. New employees quickly learn that many resources are in place to guide them in their careers at Thomas, from a corporate Intranet dedicated to servicing employees' needs, to a monthly newsletter that communicates relevant information about our business.
